Conditions and/or specific requirements for granting a visa

Mandatory requirements for all visas
  • Passport photocopy;
  • 2 Pass-type photographs, with a white background and two ears.

 

Student Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the Student Visa applicant must submit the following documents:

  • Medical certificate;
  • Document proving that the applicant is a beneficiary of a scholarship in Mozambique or another that ensures attendance of the course;
  • Proof of guaranteed food and accommodation conditions in Mozambique;
  • Letter of acceptance from the educational institution;
  • Letter of commitment to return to the country of origin, at the end of the course;
  • Letter from the employer, in the case of a working student.

NB: The validity of this visa may be one (1) year, renewable.

 

Residence Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the applicant for the Residence visa must submit the following documents:

  • Criminal Record Certificate issued by the competent authority of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence for at least one year;
  • Medical certificate;
  • Proof of guaranteed food and accommodation conditions in Mozambique;
  • Document that proves the possession of income, if the applicant intends to live on his own income;
  • Term of responsibility, if you are a spouse, minor child or incapable.

NBThe validity of this visa may be one (1) year, renewable.

 

Visitor Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the visitor visa applicant must submit the following documents:

  • Disclaimer of the entity or private, for which it is responsible for the expenses of food, accommodation and repatriation, if necessary, of the visitor;
  • Copy of the ticket or reservation of the round-trip air ticket;
  • If the visit is within the scope of medical treatment, a document confirming the appointment.

NBThe validity of this visa can be six (6) months maximum.

 

Business Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the Business visa applicant must present the following documents:

  • Letter from the employer or the entity that invites you to carry out a business visit to Mozambique, as well as to participate in an event or action, in connection with the activity it develops;
  • Copy of ticket or reservation of air ticket to and from the country of origin;
  • Proof of guaranteed food and accommodation conditions in Mozambique;

NBThe business visa must be used within sixty (60) days from the date of issue;
Allows its holder to stay in Mozambican territory for a period of thirty (30) days, extendable to ninety (90);
It can be for a single entry or multiple entries;
It does not allow its holder to obtain a residence and work permit;
It entitles its holder to dedicate himself, exclusively, to the exercise of the activity that determined the granting of the visa.

 

Work Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the applicant for the Work visa must submit the following documents:

  • Labor Contract, duly authorized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Mozambique or competent authority, at District, City or Province level;
  • Medical certificate;
  • Criminal Record;
  • Certificate or work permit issued by the competent authorities, if the applicant is an employee;
  • Work permit, if the applicant intends to exercise a liberal profession;
  • Proof document that entitles you to exercise the profession for which you are authorized;
  • Authorization from the Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs and the Disclaimer of the organization to which it belongs, if the applicant intends to carry out an activity within a religious organization;
  • Authorization by the Minister who oversees the area of ​​cooperation, in the case of a worker who goes to Mozambique, within the scope of cooperation agreements;
  • In the case of foreign workers involved in the implementation of extractive industry projects, the request for a work visa must be made by the interested company or employer and addressed to the Minister of Interior, accompanied by the authorization or certificate granted by the Minister of Resources Minerals;
  • Proof of guaranteed food and accommodation conditions in Mozambique;
  • Guarantee for possible repatriation of the foreign citizen, as well as his/her household, translated into a monetary value corresponding to the price of the return air ticket to the country of origin, deposited in the order of the Immigration Services.

NBThe work visa must be used within sixty (60) days from the date of issue;
Allows its holder to remain in Mozambican territory, for the period of validity of the employment contract;
It grants its holder the right of temporary residence in Mozambique;
Allows multiple entries;
Its validity varies between thirty (30) days until the end of the employment contract.

 

Tourist Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the applicant for the Tourism visa must submit the following documents:

  • Copy of ticket or reservation of air ticket to and from the country of origin;
  • Proof of guaranteed food and accommodation conditions in Mozambique;
  • For the purposes of the previous paragraph, the applicant must produce the bank account statement and the hotel reservation confirmation.

NBThe tourist visa must be used within sixty (60) days from the date of issue;
It can be single-entry or multiple-entry;
It is expressly prohibited to use the tourist visa file to carry out remunerated activities in Mozambique.

 

Visa for Investment Activity

In addition to the general requirements, the visa applicant for the Investment Activity must submit the following documents:

  • Investment Authorization Certificate or Term issued by the Council of Ministers of Mozambique or other Competent Entity, duly recognized by the Notary Public;
  • Criminal Record;
  • Medical certificate.

NBThe Investment Activity visa must be used within sixty (60) days from the date of issue;
Allows its holder to remain in Mozambican territory, for a period of two (2) years, which may be extended, for equal periods of time, as long as the reasons justifying its concession persist;
It grants its holder the right of temporary residence in Mozambique, upon request authorized by the Immigration Services of Mozambique (SENAMI).
Allows multiple entries.

 

Visa for Sports or Cultural Activities

In addition to the general requirements, the visa applicant for the paraSports or Cultural ActivitiesActivmust present the following documents:

  • Invitation letter or credential issued by the competent Mozambican authorities in favor of the applicant attesting to their participation in competitions or sports training or cultural demonstrations and competitions;
  • Copy of ticket or reservation of air ticket to and from the country of origin;
  • Proof of guaranteed food and accommodation conditions in Mozambique.

NBThe visa for Sports or Cultural Activities must be used within sixty (60) days from the date of issue;
It is valid for a single entry and allows an extendable stay for a maximum period of ninety (90) days;
It does not allow its holder to obtain a residence and work permit.

 

Temporary Stay Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the applicant for a Temporary Stay visa must submit the following documents:

  • Term of responsibility of the foreign citizen holding the employment contract in Mozambique, issued in favor of the spouse, minor children or incapable applicants for the temporary stay visa;
  • Copy of ticket or reservation of air ticket to and from the country of origin;

NBThe Temporary Stay visa must be used within sixty (60) days from the date of issue;
Allows its holder multiple entries;
Permanence for a period of one (1) year, renewable successively, until the end of the grounds that determined its granting;
It does not entitle its holder to obtain a residence permit in Mozambique.

 

Crew Transshipment Visa

The Crew Transshipment visa is granted to foreign citizens by the Immigration services, at sea or air crossing points, and allows the transfer of the crew member from one ship to another, from one aircraft to another or from a ship to an aircraft and vice-versa.

NBThe Crew Transshipment visa is not issued at the Embassies and Consulates of the Republic of Mozambique;
Allows its holder a stay not exceeding seventy-two (72) hours;
It does not allow its holder to obtain a residence permit in Mozambique.

 

Simple Visitor Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the applicant for a Simple Visitor visa must submit the following documents:

  • Letter of call/term of responsibility;
  • Copy of the document of the person signing the letter of call/term of responsibility;
  • Ticket Reservation, or, Ticket;
  • 2 Pass-type photographs, with a white background and two ears.

NBThe Simple Visitor visa must be used within thirty (30) days from the date of issue;

 

 

Multiple Entry Visitor Visa

In addition to the general requirements, the applicant for a Multiple Entry Visitor visa must submit the following documents:

  • Letter of call/term of responsibility;
  • Copy of the document of the person signing the letter of call/term of responsibility;
  • Ticket Reservation, or, Ticket;
  • 2 Pass-type photographs, with a white background and two ears.

NBThe Multiple Entry Visitor visa must be used within ninety (90) days from the date of issue;
